Endocrine surgery involves the surgical treatment of endocrine glands including the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. These glands are responsible for producing hormones that regulate important bodily functions.
Surgeries of these glands are performed to treat both benign and malignant conditions. Most of these surgeries are considered to be outpatient in that either patients will be discharged the same day or will be staying overnight after the surgery.
Medical endocrinologists will often work closely with your surgeon to treat your condition.
